Frequently asked questions about house portraits

How do I send you my photos

Please send a good selection of clear photographs indicating which aspect you would prefer for your house portrait. Please send your photos to my email address - jan@janadamsart.co.uk

How long does a house portrait take

Waiting times will vary depending on my workload. I sometimes have a 4-6 week waiting list, so an approximate completion date will be given at the time of your enquiry. Each painting takes around 2 weeks to complete. Please always enquire about waiting times before placing an order so that you're not disappointed.

How much is postage

I was using Royal Mail Special next day delivery but unfortunately they have become unreliable. So I have been forced to change to a different provider and the cost is now £15. They have a much more reliable and efficient service.

Can I see a sketch of the painting before you add any colour

Yes, I always send you a penciled sketch for approval before adding any ink and colour.

Will you share my house portrait online

Yes. Sharing my work is how I grow my business and attract new clients. However, if the painting has not been gifted to the recipient, I’m more than happy to delay this, in order to maintain the element of surprise. Please mention this to me when ordering.

I have a question not listed here, can you help?

Yes. Please get in touch using my contact page.
